Bringing a Bollywood Film Set to York Street

Pinky Ji's founders wanted a dining room that matched the energy of its kitchen: loud color, festive detail, and an unmistakable sense of occasion. Media coverage described the resulting space as a Bollywood set, glowing with red neon and lined with gold velvet booths and marigold-style garlands. The brief for RON GROUP was to translate that theatrical mood into furniture and soft furnishings that could survive continuous service.

The floor plan moves guests through distinct experiences: a lively main dining room around the open kitchen, a self-serve craft beer fridge for casual drinking, and a private karaoke room seating around 25 for celebrations. Each zone relies on the same material language — velvet, timber, black metal, and warm accent lighting — so the restaurant reads as one continuous atmosphere rather than a collection of separate areas.
