Situated within the Sydney Rowing Club at the end of Great North Road, Water Grill brings relaxed waterfront dining to the banks of the Parramatta River. Project Background

Water Grill is a casual dining venue operated by the Dedes Waterfront Group, a family business that has catered at the Sydney Rowing Club since 1996. The restaurant centers on a seafood-led menu that includes seafood platters, fish and chips, and grilled barramundi and salmon. The space was designed to make the most of its riverside setting, with comfortable indoor seating for everyday dining and generous outdoor areas where guests can watch ferries and boats glide along the Parramatta River.

The venue is arranged to serve a steady stream of guests throughout the day, with a bright main dining room, bar-side seating, and alfresco decks that open the experience to the river.

How We Meet the Vision

Turquoise Booth Seating

Blue-green booth seating and white tables give the interior a fresh, casual character that suits the waterfront setting.

Indoor-Outdoor Flow

Glass-block partitions separate the kitchen while keeping the room open, and glass railings on the decks preserve uninterrupted river views.

Durable Alfresco Furniture

Wicker chairs, timber tables, and umbrellas on the decks are built to withstand the weather while keeping guests comfortable.

Warm Ambient Lighting

Woven pendant lights and recessed ceiling fixtures create a relaxed atmosphere that carries from midday service into the evening.

Process

RON GROUP coordinated the furniture and decor program for Water Grill, covering the indoor booth system, dining tables, and the outdoor deck furniture. Working with the venue's casual waterfront identity, our team selected materials that hold up to heavy daily use and outdoor exposure while keeping a consistent look from the entrance through to the riverside terrace.
